![]() ![]() My groupings closer were even tighter, especially at 25 yards when my arrows all touched one another. From 75 yards, I was keeping 2” groupings, something almost unheard of at that range. Then it was time for accuracy testing, so I started making my way back to 75 yards, testing the bow at various ranges.Īll I can say is that this thing is a veritable tack driver. The Crusader is easy to sight in mine required just a few tweaks to the windage knob before I was hitting dead center on the target block. ![]() This is powerful enough to rip the arrow through most target blocks, so make sure you’ve got your target block propped up against something sturdy. You’ll see (or not see, depending on how quick your eyes are) your arrow fly off the rail at a blistering 330 fps, and the arrow deals out 96 ft. Finally, you install the scope and you’re ready to go. Next, you attach the quiver bracket and attach the quiver to the bracket. All that you have to do is install the riser assembly to the body of the crossbow using a nose bolt and washer, then attach the quiver mount and foot stirrup. The bow comes prestrung, so you don’t even have to do that. Each package delivered by SA Sports includes the following items:Īssembling the Crusader is pretty easy, and I was able to have my new Crusader up and running within half an hour. Welcome to our SA Sports Crusader Crossbow Review. Scope lacks good light gathering capabilities By now you’ll realize that Crossbow Crusade is a mixed bag with positives and negatives but for the cheap price of €4,99 and playtime of around an hour and a half, it wasn’t the worst time I had on my Xbox Series X but far from the best too.- Everything you need to get started is included Bosses are a completely different story though, you’ll have to die and respawn a few times but that’s part of the fun. A challenge from normal mobs is honestly completely non-existent, their attack pattern is easy to decipher and easy to dodge. Later on, these sections become tougher as bolts vanish into thin air. For example, shooting an arrow in a corpse to jump across a gap. Some of the crossbow bolt mechanics are fun to play around with. The negative overshadows the positive, which is a pity. Especially when the game mechanics are to blame. By now, we know that we need to be extremely careful with bats but getting killed by one in a game is rather silly. So there you are as a ‘legendary’ monster hunter stuck, preventing you from hitting an ordinary bat. While the description of the game mentions responsive controls the truth is something entirely different! Frustratingly, the character sometimes doesn’t want to jump and gets stuck in a crawling position. Largely, it is a dull and ordinary experience where nothing special happens and plagued by annoying controls. At the end of the day, it only has a few of these moments. In this fast-paced section where you shoot and dodge enemies, everything works together to make the game really fun. A highlight is a drivable trolley section where a horse is replaced by a ghost. As a fan of pixel art I was overwhelmingly thrilled by the looks from the playable monster hunter and all the nasty monsters. We played Crossbow Crusade on Xbox Series X.Īs you can see in screenshots, visually Crossbow Crusade has something nice going. This is a short review, our usual the good, mixed and the bad was difficult because of the nature of this game. To compare it with crossbow terms, the arrow retention spring worked half the time and you’ll read why in our Crossbow Crusade review. Making my time playing as a legendary monster hunter far less exciting than I hoped it would be. After playing Crossbow Crusade it turns out that only one of them was right, sadly enough. Developer ChiliDog Interactive used a lot of keywords in the description that got my attention, a rewarding fight system, responsive controls, challenging enemies, and 90’s-style pixel art.
